It wasn’t easy getting players for a 5:10 game on a Saturday afternoon, but the Squirrels won that bout, which led to a 9-1 victory against Wolfe Pack, who only had two subs.
Mario Constantinou and Luke Chung each had hat tricks, Geoff Grek scored twice, and Tim Stump added another as the Squirrels forced a running clock near the end of the second period. Constantinou also had two assists, including one to Luke Chung that was so perfect, that it sprung him on a breakaway where he shot the puck with the toe of his stick through the five hole.
In the third period, a Wolfe Pack player went hard into the boards and appeared to bump his head. He got up and punched 19-year-old Luke Chung, who was standing nearby. While Luke’s father, Dave Chung attempted to come to his defense, Wolfe Pack’s Pat Reilly stepped in to break it up.
