The Squirrels had a few problems that they couldn’t overcome Saturday… a sub goalie and lack of depth on defense, as they fell to the shorthanded Bullets, 10-6. Despite that, the Squirrels still put up six goals on one of the better goalies in the league, as Scott Kronzek scored three goals, Geoff Grek scored twice and Bob Valdes had one.
With only seven skaters, the Squirrels put up a valiant effort Monday, but ran out of gas in a 3-2 loss to the Laughing Skulls. Despite the loss, the Squirrels held a 2-0 first period lead and had plenty of chances to score down the stretch.
The Squirrels suffered a heartbreaking season-ending loss Wednesday, blowing a 3-1 lead in the last four minutes, giving up the tying goal with a second remaining and falling 4-3 in overtime against the Bullets.Continue reading
