Despite the Squirrels having a lineup issue Wednesday, they outplayed Wolfe Pack, but fell, 3-2.
Starting the game with only five skaters total, Wolfe Pack took an early lead with a goal on the first shift. As more players showed up, the Squirrels settled down. Sub defenseman Jackson Hayes scored to tie the game in the first few seconds of his first shift with the team.
While the Squirrels were buzzing, a bad line change by Wolfe Pack turned out fine as their shifting player ended up with a breakaway, and scored to go up 2-1.
In the third period, Dmitry Kulinich tied the game off of a rebound. But a fluky bounce barely crossed the goal line to give Wolfe Pack the lead again. The Squirrels hit a post and had several other opportunities to score, but came away with the loss.
