The Squirrels were shorthanded, had several subs, and won Thursday, shaking off the Bullets, 4-2.
Sub Daniel Gargano scored in the first period to tie the game at 1-1, but the Squirrels were down 2-1 going into the third.
In a long third period, where everyone was exhausted, Nate Groves and Dave Chung scored to give the Squirrels the lead. To make matters worse, Gargano of the Squirrels’ subs had to leave early, leaving the Squirrels with only seven skaters. Despite that, Groves added an empty net goal to seal the win. Dave Tran was credited with 18 saves in net, as the Squirrels put up 31 shots.
