The Squirrels continued their early-season hot play Sunday with a 4-0 victory against Wolfe Pack, while still missing several players for various reasons.
Tony Richelsen got the scoring started less than four minutes into the game with a rush down-ice. Shortly after, Cassie Campbell passed to Demetri Bedel on the left wing, and Bedel passed it back to Campbell, who had a wide-open net.
Richelsen scored again in the second period, and Rylan Gottron’s end-to-end rush gave the Squirrels a 4-0 lead.
The Squirrels had a scare in the second period when defenseman Geoff Grek was knocked backward and hit his head, but after missing several shifts, he returned for the third period.
Craig Beatty had a 20-save shutout, as the Squirrels were credited with 31 shots on net.
