The Squirrels ended their regular season with a thud on Tuesday, falling to the Eagles, who haven’t won in several games.
The Squirrels simply couldn’t find the net for 43 minutes as they squandered a few power plays. They even caught a break when the Eagles scored a goal, but the refs didn’t see it go in, and the play continued after everyone stopped skating.
Down 1-0 throughout most of the game, the Squirrels gave up two more goals early in the third period. With less than two minutes remaining, Emily Emmons skated coast-to-coast to score, before Don Marks scored with a minute to play. The Squirrels pulled their goalie but couldn’t find the equalizer.
The game had ne bearing on the final standings, and the Squirrels will now face the same team on Wednesday, March 27 at 8 p.m.
