Roller: Squirrels Bounce Back

It was another dominating game for the Screaming Squirrels, who have no shortage of speed and offensive output this season. Facing goaltender Ryan Meeks, who is known to steal games for his team, the Squirrels put up five goals in the first period. The Real C Team cut it to 5-3 early in the second half but the Squirrels kept the puck in the offensive zone most of the game and ended up winning, 7-3.

Mark Tessar and Brian Icieck each scored twice, while Jeff Ford, Ben Sumner and Eric Smith each added one.

Despite a 4-2 advantage at the half, and a 6-1 advantage on the power play, the Squirrels dropped a shootout to the Whale, 7-6. The Squirrels came inches from tying the game in the final seconds but missed by inches.

The Screaming Squirrels came out swinging Wednesday, dominating play but missing several slam-dunks to run the score up beyond the 4-1 final. Ed Owen scored twice and Rob Myers and Jeff Ford each scored in the win. The Squirrels did slow down a bit in the second period but managed to hold on for the win.
