The Squirrels and Thundercats kept scoring on each other Tuesday, but a 5-goal second period and a late hat-trick-clinching goal by Jason Wolf gave the Squirrels the 7-6 victory.
The Thundercats scored two quick goals, including one off of a face-off, before Geoff Grek stole a puck in the corner and deeked the goalie to cut the Thundercats’ lead to 2-1.
Jason Wolf scored twice in the second period, Grek scored again, then Tim Stump – back after three months and still healing from a finger injury – scored, as did Cassie Campbell. The Thundercats scored twice in the period, then again in the third, before Wolf’s third goal.
The Squirrels outshot the Thundercats, 38-30.
