Without most of their regulars, the Squirrels took a beating from a short-handed Wolfe Pack on Thursday, falling 6-2.
The game got off to a brutal start when Wolfe Pack took a penalty on the first shift of the game, then scored shorthanded moments after. Matt Wolf scored to tie the game, but Wolfe Pack scored again to make it 2-1 going into the second period.
That’s when the game took a turn, as Wolfe Pack scored three times in the second, then again early in the third period.
Matt Wolf scored again in the third period. Despite the score, the Squirrels did have possession for a lot of the game, but had a hard time getting the puck past goalie Justin Weston.
