The Squirrels had a few problems that they couldn’t overcome Saturday… a sub goalie and lack of depth on defense, as they fell to the shorthanded Bullets, 10-6. Despite that, the Squirrels still put up six goals on one of the better goalies in the league, as Scott Kronzek scored three goals, Geoff Grek scored twice and Bob Valdes had one.
After being down 3-0 after the first, the Squirrels scored four times in the second, cutting the Bullets’ lead to one a couple of times. Even halfway through the third period, the Squirrels cut the Bullets’ lead to 7-6, but ran short on defenders down the stretch and paid the price.
