On paper, the eighth-seeded team that only won four games all season shouldn’t beat the top-seeded team, 6-0, but the Brewins pulled in all their ringers Sunday, and the Squirrels were missing some of their better ones in the first round of the playoffs.
The Squirrels faced a revamped Brewins team on Sunday, outplaying them for the majority of the game but having little to show for it until the third period, then running away with a 6-2 win.
The Squirrels got the new season started out right on Thursday, as a short bench defeated the Brewins, 4-2.
