The Squirrels only had two subs in their first game of the season Saturday, and though they fell 4-2 to Wolfe Pack, the effort was there for all three periods.
Even when down 4-0 early in the third period, the Squirrels never gave up, scoring twice down the stretch on goals from Tony Richelsen and Mario Constantinou. Even then, the Squirrels missed a few opportunities early that would’ve made the score more closer throughout the game. Meanwhile, Craig Beatty made some fantastic saves in this game to keep it close, robbing players multiple times on two-on-ones and leaving them frustrated at missing some slam-dunks.
