Playing against their own teammate, the Squirrels put on a solid performance against Blades of Steel and Squirrel regular Mario Constantinou on Sunday, winning 3-1 in solid fashion.
That said, Blades struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after the first period. Vivek Pinto finally found the net for the Squirrels in the second period. Brent Machado’s short-handed goal – which could’ve easily been whistled dead as many refs would’ve lost sight of it – put the Squirrels on top.
While the score was 2-1 for much of the rest of the game, the Squirrels still dominated, even hitting several posts along the way. Pinto added the empty net.
