Despite fewer players on the bench, the Squirrels got better as the game went on Thursday, as they beat the Eagles, 6-2.
The teams each scored twice in the first period, with the Eagles taking the lead in the first minute and the Squirrels getting goals from Tero Moberg and Mike Bartock.
In the second period, the Squirrels got a power play, and Mario Constantinou scored off of a pass from Brandon Barkoff to give the Squirrels the lead. Constantinou scored another power play goal in the third period, while Barkoff and Bartock also scored for a three-goal third period.
The Squirrels were assisted by a ten-minute misconduct by the Eagles’ leading scorer, who couldn’t play down the stretch.
