Despite a late-game scare, the Squirrels took it to the Mastodons on Thursday, winning 6-3 in a game that was a lot closer than the final score.
In the third, with a 4-2 lead, the Mastodons scored a short-handed goal to put the Squirrels on their heels, but the Squirrels scored twice more down the stretch.
Mike Bartock channeled his inner Conner McDavid and scored some coast-to-coast goals, finishing with a hat trick for the game, while Vivek Pinto scored twice. David “Killer” Chung had one.
The Squirrels outshot the Mastodons, 29-12.
