The Squirrels came away with a fantastic 5-3 victory Sunday against a very solid Jailbreak team, with Scott Kronzek leading the way with a hat trick and an assist.
The Squirrels went up 3-0 early in the second period on two first-period goals from Kronzek and one from Dave Chung. then Jailbreak fought back, scoring twice quickly to cut the lead to 3-2.
Early in the third period, Kronzek centered to Neil Shah, who scored, and then Kronzek scored 14 seconds later by roofing a shot to the top corner.
Jailbreak cut the lead to 5-3 shortly after, and didn’t let up. They even got themselves a 5-on-3 penalty down the stretch, and pulled their goalie for a 6-on-3 in the final minute but couldn’t get another.
