Ice: Squirrels 9, Strange Brew 5

The Squirrels finally found some offense and won a game on Sunday, trouncing a short-benched Strange Brew, 9-5. Every player contributed in the scoring. It was the firs twin of the season for the Squirrels, who are now 1-2.

The Squirrels finally got a bit of offense Sunday but still couldn’t keep up with Rockey Hockey, who scored three in the second period en route to a 4-2 victory. The Squirrels, however, did maintain a lead for about 12 minutes after Dave Steckel scored in the first period.

Tero Moberg added a goal near the end of the game.

Just two weeks removed from winning the championship, the Screaming Squirrels found themselves up a level on Sunday, playing against the Laughing Skulls in the Silver 4 division. While the Squirrels handled the pressure of a higher-level team for much of the game, they let three get through and missed a few opportunities of their own while falling, 3-0.
