Squirrels 10, Nordiques 2

Squirrel Chris Wautel suited up for one of his other teams Thursday, playing goalie with his “junior sized leg pads on backwards and everything,” said Squirrels goaltender Eric Coulson. The Squirrels, who last played a game with Wautel in the opposing team’s net back when he was with Mors Ab Alto in Roller almost five years ago, lit the lamp 10 times for a 10-2 win against the Nordiques. Even Charles Wolstein scored.

The first time the Squirrels played Heneken Light, they lost 1-0 in a close game. On Sunday, it wasn’t close, and it wasn’t pretty, as the Squirrels fell 6-2.

Ice: Squirrels Fall to Highlanders

The Squirrels put up 28 shots Sunday, but could only sneak one through, and fell to the Highlanders, 2-1. A couple of the Highlanders felt the need to go after the Squirrels after the buzzer – and even dropped the gloves – then felt the need to complain to the refs about the Squirrels standing up for themselves. It was the most tears the Squirrels have ever seen opponents shed after a win.
