The Squirrels got a much-needed win Wednesday, but it was much harder than it should’ve been as the tilted ice was just enough for a 2-1 win against the Eagles.
Vivek Pinto got the scoring started for the Squirrels in the first period, but the Eagles tied it moments later. After dominating much of the rest of the game but with little to show for it, the score remained tied, until Tony Richelsen took a shot, then hammered home his own rebound for the eventual game-winner.
Along with Richelsen, the Squirrels played with three regular forwards on defense: Tero Moberg, Jason Wolf and Dave Chung.
Rink rats Jon Der and Pat Reilly subbed for the Squirrels.
The Squirrels were credited with 31 shots on net, while they gave up 11.
