About a month after being smoked by the Bullets, 9-5, the Squirrels put together a solid 4-2 victory on Tuesday.
Though the Bullets got the only goal of the first period, the Squirrels still played well, while the Bullets’ goalie held a shutout until about halfway through the game. Matthew Savard and Vivek Pinto each scored about a minute apart to give the Squirrels a 2-1 lead. Though the Bullets tied it shortly after, Mike Bartock put the Squirrels back on top, and the Squirrels held a 3-2 lead going into the third period.
The Squirrels didn’t hold back, as they played well defensively and kept up the pressure. Emily Emmons took a shot from the left wing and Bob Valdes deflected in the fourth goal of the game.
