The Squirrels suffered their first lost since December on Sunday, falling 4-2 to the Mastodons in a game where the Squirrels had the shot advantage, 44-29.
The Mastodons took a 3-0 lead more than halfway through the game before Brent Machado put the Squirrels on the board. Late in the third, Vivek Pinto scored to make the game 3-2, but a late Mastodons goal put the game out of reach.
Steve Borsh played in net for the Squirrels.
