The Squirrels battled back from a late two-goal deficit Sunday, but fell in the shootout, 5-4, to Jailbreak.
Down 2-0 after the first, Mario Constantinou tapped in the first goal of the game for the Squirrels early in the second period.
Jailbreak would take a 3-1 lead early in the third period, but halfway through the period, Brent Machado won a faceoff directly to Paul Luethy on the end boards, who took a slapshot and scored to pull the Squirrels within one. Jailbreak got a break shortly after than with a fluky goal, but down the stretch, Vivek Pinto scored, then Constantinou scored with a pulled goalie to tie the game.
The shootout didn’t go so well but the Squirrels salvages a point.
