Roller: Squirrels 5, Silver Spring 3

It took a while for both teams to shake off the rust, but in the end, the Squirrels defeated Silver Spring (last season’s playoff nemesis), 5-3. After going down 2-1 early in the second, the Squirrels scored four of the next five goals.

New defenseman Casey Carpenter scored the first two Squirrels goals, as Don Marks, Rob Myers and Mark Tessar scored the other three.
