The Squirrels and Dinosaurs played another epic high-scoring game Tuesday, but this one went the Dinosaurs’ way as they scored three straight and held off a mad Squirrels scramble for a 9-8 win.
The Squirrels, who only had 7 skaters, didn’t start off very well, falling behind 4-1 in the first half of the first period before Charles Warner scored twice. The Squirrels trailed 5-3 at the half.
The Dinosaurs extended their lead to 6-3 before the Squirrels scored five straight – frustrating the hell out of the Dinosaurs in the process – and taking an 8-6 lead. Warner scored three of those goals and assisted on another, and two came on the power play.
Then things got sloppy again for the Squirrels as they surrendered three more. A late power play gave them chances to tie, but the Dinosaurs held on for the win.
