Silver Spring hasn’t won a game since 2017 – and they only one once that season – but came close against the Squirrels on Thursday.
The Squirrels took a 3-1 lead in the first period, but a late boarding penalty cost them a defensive sub, and Silver Spring mustered two late goals to tie the game.
The Squirrels, however, scored on all three shootout attempts to give them the win.
