The Squirrels put up 42 shots, but only scored once as Dave Chung found Demetri Bedel out front on the power play, which gave the Squirrels their only goal late in the second period, when they were already down by four.
Craig Beatty made 23 saves in net, as the Squirrels skated with two full lines.
