The Squirrels kept the game close for almost two full periods Sunday, but two late goals in the second and five in the third made it a blowout as the Thundercats won, 8-2.

Despite a relatively even shot count, the Thundercats kept getting open in the slot and scoring. The one bright spot for the Squirrels was newcomer Nate Groves, who assisted on Mario Constantinou’s goal in the second period and scored in the third.
