The Screaming Squirrels struggled in their first game of the season Sunday, facing their familiar foe the Mastodons, who put up 6 in the second to pull away with a 9-2 win.

Squirrels Knocked Out in First Round

It’s been about a year since the ice Squirrels lost a playoff game, but it happened Sunday in the first round against the Mastodons in a 7-4 game that could’ve easily been closer.

Charles Warner had three goals for the Squirrels, while Brent Machado assisted on all four, but the Mastadons pulled away in the third period.

The Squirrels will regroup for the summer season in a couple of weeks.
