Squirrels 8, Home Visions 1

The Squirrels’s losing streak came to an end Tuesday in blowout fashion. The clear difference in the Squirrels’ 8-1 win was goaltending, as Home Visions had plenty of chances of their own.

Six different Squirrels scored while Merritt Lyon made 18 saves, letting only one in late in the third period.

The Squirrels and the Laughing Skulls battled for the second time this season, and once again the Skulls got the better of the Squirrels, this time in a shootout.

In his first game for the Squirrels, Charles Warner scored the only goal, but the Squirrels didn’t score in the shootout, falling 2-1.

Too many penalties ultimately did the Squirrels in on Sunday, as they fell to the Highlanders, 3-2. But even after killing two 5-on-3s, including in the final two minutes and seven seconds, the Squirrels still did get one final shot on net, but the Highlanders saved it. The Squirrels beat the Highlanders earlier in the season, 6-2. Jon Danziger and Nolan Walker scored for the Squirrels.

The Squirrels got crushed Sunday, playing against first place and too-good-for-Bronze Howard County Heat, 11-2. The first period wasn’t so bad, though, as the Squirrels were only down 2-1, with one of the Heat’s goals coming off a lucky bounce along the boards that should’ve gone all the way around but instead came straight to a player in the middle.

Jon Danziger and Don Marks scored for the Squirrels.
