Ice Playoffs: Squirrels 6, Mastodons 4

A sixth seed, the Squirrels upset the third seeded Mastodons on Wednesday, despite it being their first game in 17 days, despite playing with only three subs, and despite the fact that three players already played another game right beforehand.

Patrick Oliverio and Ben Sumner each scored twice, with Charles Warner and Ray Titus added one each.

The Squirrels kept taking big leads, up 4-1 and later 6-3, but Home Visions made it interesting down the stretch with two late goals, but couldn’t pull it out as the Squirrels skated away with a 6-5 win. Charles Warner had three goals, Ray Titus had two – included a short-handed goal – and Ben Sumner had one. The Squirrels used the Mastodons’ goalie, Jimmy Davis, in net.
