A lousy third period did the Squirrels in on Tuesday, as they coughed up a 3-0 lead near the halfway point of the game before falling, 5-3. The score was tied late in the game before the Whalers scored the game winner with 1:27 to go, and added an empty net.

The Screaming Squirrels dropped their second game in a row Wednesday with a 4-2 loss to Wolfe Pack. Bob Valdes and Mike Bartock scored for the Squirrels.
