The Squirrels had a comfortable 3-1 lead Sunday, but a couple of turnovers and a few too many penalties didn’t help down the stretch as the Cruisers came back to win, 4-3.

The Squirrels only lost three games all last season. This year, they’ve already lost three after Thursday’s 3-1 loss to Silver Spring. Luck played a factor as the Squirrels kept hitting posts, and having only two subs didn’t help, either.

It’s been a couple of years, but the Real C Team pulled off its occasional upset of the Screaming Squirrels as goaltender Ryan Meeks stopped 33 shots. The Squirrels typically finish ahead of the Real C Team but Meeks remains one of the best goaltenders in the division regardless.
