The Squirrels played well for two periods Friday, but let up in the third in a 7-3 loss in the final game of the regular season.
Mike Bartock scored all three goals for the Squirrels. In the first period, he got the scoring started when the Bullets’ goalie misplayed the puck and dumped it in. Bartock gave the Squirrels a 2-0 lead later in the period.
The Bullets got on the board in the second, before Bartock’s shot from the point found the net and gave the Squirrels a 3-1 lead. Then the Bullets scored again, then scored five more goals in the third period.
Eric “Kool Aid” Kulacz subbed in net for the Squirrels, and made several great saves in the first two periods.
The Squirrels finished in fifth place and will face the Thundercats in the first round of the playoffs. Mario Constantinou led the Squirrels in goals, assists and points with 12, 8 and 20.
