The Squirrels hadn’t played the Eagles in a while, and welcomes them back to the division by crushing them, 8-1.
Despite the lopsided victory, the Squirrels only mustered one goal in the first period, as Mario Constantinou scored the first of his two. The Squirrels broke open the floodgates in the second period with four goals. Don Marks scored on a slap shot, Bob Valdes scored from behind the net somehow, Nate Groves scored on a rebound, and Jason Wolf joined the fun. Despite the onslaught, the Squirrels also squandered two power plays, and gave up a goal that period.
Constantinou, Groves and Wolf each scored a second time in the third period.
