Laughing Skulls 4, Squirrels 3

The Squirrels lost their first game of the season Sunday, falling 4-3 to the Laughing Skulls in a very close game.

After a scoreless first period, Mike Bartock gave the Squirrels the lead with a slap shot from the point. The Skulls answered, but on the next shift, Brent Machado put the Squirrels up 2-1. The Squirrels then gave up a power play goal, and one more in the same minute to go down, 3-2.

The Squirrels had several power plays, including multiple 5-on-3s, but couldn’t score. The Skulls got an insurance goal in the third period. Vivek Pinto gave the Squirrels hope with a goal, making it 4-3, but the score held despite a flurry of shots in the last couple of minutes.
