The previously undefeated Wheaton Capitals suffered their first loss Wednesday as the Squirrels dominated them with a second-period onslaught (at least in the offensive zone) en route to a 5-2 victory. Tom Fischer and Tony Richelsen each scored a pair of goals as Bob Valdes notched one to lead the Squirrels.
The win put the Squirrels in second place, only a point behind the Wheaton Caps, after six games. It was the fourth win in a row for the Squirrels who dropped the first two on the season.
