Second place was up for grabs, but the Squirrels blew their chance Tuesday, falling to Jailbreak 5-2, after beating them last week.
The Squirrels weren’t very sharp, letting in four first period goals, then failing to score on their best chances down the stretch. David Chung and Brent Machado each scored, both from the same spot to the very right of the net and at bad angles.
After a late-season surge, the Squirrels still only finished in fourth place, and will place the fifth place team next week.
Machado led the team in scoring with 10 goals and 15 assists. Jon Danziger also had 10 goals on the season.
